May 11, 2021Cairo – 11 April 2021: The Safe Use of Wastewater workshop organized in Egypt this week will conclude on Sunday, which aimed to build and strengthen the capacities of different stakeholders and participants from Egypt in the field of safe use of wastewater.
The workshop was organized by the International Water management Institute (IWMI) – ReWater MENA project, in collaboration with Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) during the period April 4-11, 2021.
April 9, 2022Since 2018, IWMI has supported the Lebanese government to develop its water reuse policies through the ReWater MENA initiative.

April 8, 2019On March 26, 2019, the ReWater MENA project held Jordan’s first National Steering Committee (NSC) meeting at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministries of Water and Irrigation, Agriculture, Environment and Health as well as the Water Authority of Jordan, Jordan Valley Authority, International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI).
February 3, 2022Jordan is one of the MENA countries facing severe water shortages. The rampant increase in water demand by the municipal sector and the large consumptive use of water by agriculture are definitely beyond the country’s water budget.

June 2, 2019The ReWater MENA project launched its first national learning alliance (NLA) in Egypt on May 20, 2019. The NLA was organized by a project partner – the Center for Environment and Development of the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) – in cooperation with the project as well as the International Center for Agricultural Research (ICARDA). CEDARE and ICARDA are leading the implementation of project activities in Egypt. Lisode, the project partner responsible for stakeholder engagement, facilitated brainstorming and discussions during the launch event.
