Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with regional offices across Asia and Africa, the Institute works with governments, civil society and the private sector to develop scalable agricultural water management solutions that have a real impact on poverty reduction, food security and ecosystem health.

IWMI is a CGIAR Research Center and leads the Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems.

International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA)


The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is a global research-for-development organization. It envisions resilient livelihoods in dryland communities of the developing world with secure access to food, markets, nutrition and health, and the capacity to manage natural resources sustainably. Since its establishment in 1977 as a non-for-profit organization, it has implemented research-for-development programs in 50 countries in the world’s dry areas, spanning from Morocco in North Africa to Bangladesh in South Asia.

Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI)


LARI is a governmental organization under Minister of Agriculture Supervision. The institute conducts applied and basic scientific research for the development and advancement of the agricultural sector in Lebanon.

In addition, the Institute keeps close ties to the farmers and tries to develop research activities aiming at solving their problems. The LARI has at its disposal eight experimental stations.

Holding Company for Water and Waste Water offers drinking water treatment and wastewater disposal services. The company provides drinking water purification, desalination, and distribution; wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal; and sludge treatment services. Holding Company for Water and Waste Water was founded in 2004 and is based in Cairo, Egypt.
